Amanda Stanton clarifies her decision on "Bachelor in Paradise" this week, and we totally get it
If you’re a member of Bachelor Nation, then you’ve probably been glued to your screen every Monday and Tuesday for this summer’s Bachelor in Paradise. And it also means you’ve likely been kept up at night thinking about the Josh-Amanda-Nick love triangle (just us? Okay, forget we said that last part).
For those of you just catching up (spoilers ahead!): Nick Viall instantly seemed interested in pursuing a connection with Amanda Stanton, yet after what seemed like a great first date, she dropped him for Josh Murray.
According to Stanton’s blog, she’s been “completely overwhelmed” by the amount of hate she’s received this week because of her decision — in large part because Viall is portrayed as the nicer guy.
But Stanton says we didn’t get the full story from the episode, and a lot was NOT included which would have made her decision to pursue a connection with Murray way more understandable.
WHAT?! A Bachelor-franchise show heavily edited to create the most amount of drama possible and to totally manipulate our emotions?! Oh…right…that makes a lot of sense actually.
Stanton went on to write that not only was her first date with Viall not as good as her first date with Murray, and not only did Viall voice his interest in another potential girl, but,
“One thing that stood out to me was that he would hold my hand or kiss me … but as soon as the cameras were off, he would stop or let go of my hand. Now if someone is really into you, they’re going to show affection to you whether there are cameras on them or not. I TRULY felt like he wasn’t that into me.”
Okay, we get it, Amanda. And we’re sorry we ever doubted you (and, TBH, it’s sounding like you deserve better than both these guys). Now, is it Monday yet?
