Alexis Bledel revealed why she was scared while filming "The Handmaid's Tale"
If you’ve watched The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu, you might have been affected by a few very disturbing (yet powerful) scenes. Actress Alexis Bledel knew this would be an important series, and she was cast alongside actors that she greatly admired. But she was also scared to film the show.
Bledel appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers and discussed her role in the groundbreaking series. While we’d assume that the red cape wardrobes would be restricting, Bledel let the audience know that wasn’t actually the case. Especially when filming scenes with her mouth covered.
But there were more emotions at play. Bledel said, in a somewhat joking way, that she considered herself to be “the weakest link” of the cast.
We understand being self-conscious, but hopefully Bledel knows she rocked the role of Ofglen. Not only has she already been announced as a regular for the show’s upcoming second season, but she even received her first nomination for the Emmy Awards.
Now for the important part — did Bledel actually watch the show? We imagine after “living” it on camera, there may be scenes she wouldn’t want to look back on.
We totally know what she means. If you’re willing to take the plunge and watch a stunning series, The Handmaid’s Tale is currently streaming on Hulu.
