We’re already super stoked to check out Hulu’s upcoming adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale, which features the stellar dream-team cast of Elizabeth Moss and Samira Wiley. But now, there’s even more news out of this dystopian world: Alexis Bledel has joined the cast, and someone get her a bonnet, stat.

In case you didn’t read The Haindmaid’s Tale during your high school years (and if you haven’t, you should) the story is set in the not-too-distant future, where the world’s population is dropping, and this means women are forced into servitude to increase the birth rate. Yes, it’s a chilling tale (and, one that will certainly resonate strongly with everything happening in the world right now).

Elizabeth is set to play the story’s protagonist, handmaiden Offred, and Samira will play her handmaiden friend, Moira. As for Alexis’ role, she’ll play Ofglen — also a friend of Offred, but Offred not really sure if Ofglen can be trusted, and we’re not so sure, either. Also, be prepared for lots of O-names that all sound the same!

Joseph Fiennes, Chuck’s Yvonne Strahovski and The Mindy Project Max Minghella round out the cast, and this already sounds like the binge-event of the season (except, okay, you can’t binge it, because Hulu likes to release their series one-at-a-time and that’s fine, you do you, Hulu).

Hope Alexis enjoys her stay in Republic of Gilead! High chance she’s quickly going to miss the warm comforts of Stars Hollow.
