Ahoy matey, this "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor is joining "The Mindy Project!"
Pirates of the Caribbean star Jack Davenport, who was most recently seen on NBC’s Smash, will be guest starring on a Hulu original!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jack has a role on The Mindy Project‘s upcoming season as a potential love interest for the comedy’s leading lady and namesake, Mindy Kaling (she is also creator and executive producer of the show).
Jack will play an English stage actor by the name of Leland Breakfast who arrives in New York City for his role in a one-man show, where Mindy catches his eye. And with a name like “Leland Breakfast” he already sounds like Mindy’s dream man.
As Mindy Project fans know, Mindy’s love life is complex enough–at the end of season four, she was torn between two potential significant others, one of whom she has serious history with. It’ll be interesting to see how Leland fits into that situation — will Mindy even give Leland the time of day?
Fans are torn between Mindy’s two choices, but have no fear — executive producer Matt Warburton said earlier this summer that she’ll decide between them in Season 5.
“I think people will be excited by how quickly we move things forward with the decision that she makes,” Matt said. “We’re just going to see her really start to take that more seriously. Like, ‘What is the rest of my life going to look like as a single mom with a kid? I don’t have an infinite amount of time to figure this out.'”
Other guest stars on The Mindy Project‘s fifth season will include Bryan Greenberg (How To Make It in America), Nasim Pedrad (Scream Queens), and Rebecca Rittenhouse (Blood & Oil).
The Mindy Project returns to Hulu on October 4, 2016. Watch the teaser for the new season below!
