The team behind Netflix original series 13 Reasons Why has a lot of reasons to celebrate. For starters, the teen drama earned a Golden Globe nomination on Monday, and Season 2 just finished filming — and celebrated with a fabulous-looking wrap party.
13 Reasons Why executive producer Selena Gomez took to social media on Monday to share a few sweet snaps of herself with the show’s cast at the glitzy event as well as some thoughts on the show’s ability to get people talking about important topics like sexual violence and teen suicide:
The show’s star Katherine Langford — who was nominated for a Best Actress in a Television Series, Drama Golden Globe — echoed a similar sentiment in her social media response. She also posted photobooth strips, and addressed the show’s awards recognition.
Decked out in party photobooth staples like feather boas, oversized shades, and cardboard top hats, other guests at the Season 2 soiree that we spotted on social media included cast members Dylan Minnette, Amy Hargreaves, Ross Butler, Michele Selene Ang, Justin Prentice, and Ajiona Alexus, among others.
Though her character died in Season 1, Langford will reprise her role as Hannah Baker in Season 2.
Newcomers Samantha Logan, Kelli O’Hara, Ben Lawson, Allison Miller, Anne Winters, Bryce Cass, and Chelsea Alden will join the cast as well. Since the source material — Jay Asher’s novel — was covered in Season 1, we’re not sure exactly where Season 2 will take us, though reports say the story may revolve around the lawsuit filed by Hannah’s parents (Brian d’Arcy James and Kate Walsh) in the wake of her death.
Whatever happens, we’re excited to pick up where the stellar cast left off.
