TV Characters Who Truly Understand What It Means To Be Hangry
I’m a terrible monster when I’m hungry. Maybe I’m super sensitive to hunger, or maybe food just makes me happier than it should. Whatever it is, I wouldn’t wish my hungry presence upon my worst enemies. There is truly something about being super hungry that transforms every conversation, phone call, text message, red light, or cough into this gigantic annoyance I feel is slowly draining my essence. Basically, I’m hangry and I hate everyone and everything is horrible.
Luckily, I’m not the only one who is this deeply affected by a lack of snacks. Plenty of our fave TV show characters have also expressed their most sincere need for food, and it’s the best thing, ever.
Joey Tribbiani from Friends:
Everyone should understand to *never* get in the way of a hangry girl and her food, and this includes asking to share. Just get your own, duh!
When we’re hungry we’ll do anything to protect our precious source of nourishment.
GOD, WHAT IS THERE NOT TO GET.
I mean, candy is the very least one can give.
If food is involved, we must be notified immediately.
. . . Right?
Mindy Lahiri from The Mindy Project
This will be every hangry girl’s last words.
To stop us from eating delicious food is essentially unconstitutional.
Just put us out of our misery already.
Jake from Adventure Time
And this is what goes through my mind every day when I’m eating lunch.
Sometimes, words aren’t even necessary.
THAT’S what it must be!
Oh, Marceline. You speak such true, beautifully tragic words.
Liz Lemon from 30 Rock
Why yes, overturning tables over a bowl of mac ‘n cheese is definitely reasonable.
YOU HAD ONE JOB.
But there’s ALWAYS cake. WHAT GIVES.
Rob Swanson from Parks and Recreation
I mean, that’s how I feel 24/7.
Sometimes you just have to ask for ALL the food in order to set things straight with yourself and the universe.
Our desires are simple: food.
Cristina Yang from Grey’s Anatomy
Because there is no reason to be anywhere that doesn’t have food, aka hell.
Pam Halpert from The Office
And we don’t care if you judge us. You would be a horrible person too if you were this unbearably hungry.
