After hearing about Maze Runner star Dylan O’Brien’s injuries last March, and Maze Runner: The Death Cure‘s postponement to January 2018 as opposed to February 2017, Dylan’s fans were worried about the star and hoping to see him healthy and active again as soon as possible.

But  we can all now sigh a little breath of relief with this latest news about the hunky star.

Entertainment Weekly talked to Teen Wolf (a show O’Brien has been involved with for a while) showrunner Jeff Davis and got the exclusive scoop.

It turns out, he’ll not only be returning for the sixth season, his character (Stiles) will be central to the plot of the season.

“Stiles is a big part of the season because a lot of this season’s mystery revolves around him,” Davis reassured fans. “We’re going to see just what Stiles’ friendship means to Scott, Lydia, and Malia. We’re going to see why exactly he’s Scott’s best friend, what it means that he’s Malia’s human anchor, and what his will-they-or-won’t-they relationship is with Lydia… A lot of this story is about Stiles.”

Tyler Posey  (the titular teen wolf and series star himself) also weighed in on the subject. “Everybody has a lot of reflecting to do,” he shared. “It’s beautiful. It’s so cool what we do. You fall in love with Stiles every episode. It really makes you think of all the cool [stuff] that we’ve done with Stiles and Scott over the past few years, so it’s a really reminiscent season.”

EW even shared a first look at Stiles that include him in a brace which (interestingly enough) predated O’Brien’s on-set accident.

We’re glad to hear the beloved actor is back in action and can’t wait to see him on the big and small screens again soon.
