Taylor Swift makes a pretty darn amazing cat lady (and, just in case we need to clarify, that is high praise at HelloGiggles). It’s no secret we love her unabashed and overflowing affection for her two fur babies, Dr. Meredith Grey and Detective Olivia Benson (Side note: Best. Names. Ever.). And even though we’ve waxed on about T-Swift’s wonderful cat-loving ways in the past, there’s just so much more we need to talk about, because we love her, and we love Meredith and Olivia, and T-Swift just does a lot of cute things with her cats, alright?! Here are just a few more reasons why we think Taylor makes such an awesome cat mom.

She hand carries her cat (for a great reason)

Because you’re a person that uses the Internet, you’ve probably seen this photo of T-Swift carrying Olivia Benson outside of her apartment building by now. It’s caused quite the kerfuffle — why isn’t Olivia in a carrier? Does she just really enjoy long walks draped over T-Swift’s arm? Does she practice that spot-on Blue Steel? Are cats this season’s hot new accessory? But as it turns out, the reason Taylor was carrying Olivia was way cuter.

You gotta do what you gotta do.

Her kitties get some amazing cameos (cameows?)

Oh, to be a celebrity’s cat. It comes with some great perks (. . . purrks? I’m sorry, I’ll stop now) — including guest appearances in music videos and national TV advertisements. Olivia Benson was in both “Blank Space” and one of Taylor’s Diet Coke commercials, and we can’t handle how badass the cat mom pride is.

She’s all about cat-related presents

According to her Instagram, T-Swift’s favorite Christmas presents last year were these two custom-made cat carriers from here mom; but she loves cat prezzies in all forms (including this custom necklace from Lena Dunham, featuring a picture of Meredith).

Here she is, blowdrying Olivia Benson

Little Olivia took a tumble in the bathtub, and like any good cat parent, Taylor made sure to warm her up and dry her off as quickly as possible. The resulting Instagram video is ridiculously aww-worthy.

She talks to her cats like humans

See video above.

She’s rocked a lot of cat wear

From those delicate wire cat ears in her music video for “22” to a plethora of shirts featuring all sorts of felines, Taylor Swift is proud to rep her fur babies and show where she stands on the cat/dog debate.

She reenacted a sweet Super Bowl play with her cat (as one does)

I would probably watch a lot more football if it included these kinds of instant replays.

She’d rather hang with her cats than go out sometimes

“It feels like one of those nights. . .”
