Just one day after we got a glimpse of the first pictures from the new The Legend of Tarzan movie, starring Alexander Skarsgård and Margot Robbie, the full trailer was released. One thing’s for certain: this is not the Tarzan we remember as kids. This movie is intense, filled with fight scenes, stampedes, and ferocious creatures. I didn’t spy a single talking elephant, but that’s okay, because this movie looks like it will have more than enough to keep us entertained.

We’re not surprised at this somewhat darker rendition of the classic tale, especially considering its director, David Yates, who was behind many of the Harry Potter movies, including the action-packed finale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. This film is based on the book by Edgar Rice Burroughs, taking a much more realistic approach to what life would be like were a boy actually raised in the jungle, but this time, starting after Tarzan’s transition to London and instead following him as he returns to his roots.

The full film is set to hit theaters on July 1st, 2016. Watch the trailer below!
