Camp Anawanna, we hold you in our hearts! And when we think about you, it makes us want to — oh, never mind.

But seriously guys, remember Salute Your Shorts? It was one of the best shows to come out of Nickelodeon in the ’90s, about a group of kids at summer camp. It only ran for two years, but it has left a lasting impression on all of us. Also, in case you’re wondering because I frequently check, the show is not available on DVD. HOWEVER, the show can live on in other ways. You know, like a Salute Your Shorts reunion.

The whole cast gathered together back in MAY of this past year, and we had no idea about it until right now. According to Trevor Eyster, posting on his Facebook page and who played Sponge, it was the largest cast gathering of the show to date. Who was there? EVERYONE: Series creator Steve Slavkin, who also played Dr. Kahn, along with Kirk Baily (Ug Lee), Megan Berwick (Z.Z. Ziff), Michael Bower (Donkeylips), Venus DeMilo (Telly), Heidi Lucas (Dina), and Erik MacArthur (Michael). All our camp friends, back together again!

If you want to check out a behind the scenes video of the panel, you can, and you should, even though it’s almost an hour long. But seeing as how we had to wait two decades for more Salute Your Shorts in our lives, we’ll take whatever we can get.

And farts. That’s the end of the Camp Anawanna song. Sorry, couldn’t resist.
