Finally, Ryan Seacrest weighs in on Mariah Carey's "unfortunate" New Year's Eve performance
Finally, after days of waiting, we have an answer to the question everybody has been asking — how does Ryan Seacrest feel about Mariah Carey’s New Year’s Eve mishap on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve? You know, that internationally broadcast show Seacrest hosted, where Mariah had mortifying technical issues that went viral within seconds, then her management later dragged Dick Clark Productions without mercy?
Well, let’s just say that — surprise, surprise — Seacrest is being the consummate professional and a total pal to Queen Mariah. Sort of. We think.
“It’s live television, and things happen on live TV — if something goes wrong, it’s unfortunate for anybody,” he continued.
Basically, it seems like Seacrest is acknowledging that Mariah had a difficult time with the performance, but also saying she should have known better since she did it all before way back when.
Which is … actually pretty diplomatic of him, considering Mariah’s camp has been saying things like Dick Clark Productions “set her up to fail,” something the company later said was “defamatory, outrageous and frankly absurd.”
Believe us, Seacrest — for the rest of us, this has all been really, really fun.
