If you’ve ever doubted or just didn’t quite understand every girl’s obsession with Ryan Gosling, you’re about to. The actor just once again proved himself ridiculously loveable when he gave the world a lesson in pronouncing Saoirse Ronan‘s name.

He presented Ronan with her New Hollywood Award at the Hollywood Film Awards in November, but the two had been friends before that. Gosling cast Ronan in his 2014 directorial debut Lost River. So when he called her name for the award, he clarified the pronounciation for everyone in the audience. “It’s Ser-sha, like inertia,” he said back in November.

This past weekend at the 2016 Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala, Saoirse thanked Gosling for the rhyming trick, calling him a “blond Canadian Jesus.”

“Someone sent me a photo two weeks later of a cinema in Minnesota, and on the sign in the front it said Brooklyn and then underneath it said, ‘Ser-sha, Like Inertia,”‘ Ronan told People. “I couldn’t believe it! They actually put it on the front of the cinema, so the power of Ryan Gosling is stronger than anything else.”

People mispronouncing Saoirse Ronan‘s name probably happens on a daily basis. In fact, it’s probably happened to the Irish-American actress her entire life. Those with hard-to-pronounce names know the struggle, and most people learn to just shrug it off, learn to live with it, or find a cute, funny way to get people to remember it. Kinda like “Ser-sha, like inertia.” If only we could all have Ryan Gosling teach people how to pronounce our names.
