We already know the world is obsessed with Pokémon Go, but now a new feature is coming out: Buddy Pokémon. So, listen up:

This new feature let you walk your Pokémon one at a time to train them, bond with them, spend all day (and night) with them.

This will encourage even more walking (and bumping into people in the process, so be careful!) and egg hatching. And it could begin as early as next week.

“You will be able to pick your favorite Pokémon from your collection to become your buddy, opening up unique in-game rewards and experiences,” the Pokémon Go Development Team stated on their site. “Buddy Pokémon will appear alongside your Trainer avatar on your profile screen, adding helpful bonuses such as awarding Candy for walking together.”

You can also change your buddy whenever you want. And, overall, the buddy feature will probably help up our game, so to speak, since training one Buddy Pokémon will get you more experience points.

We’re not the only ones still totally obsessed with this game. Even Mindy’s playing Pokémon Go next season on The Mindy Project.

And from the looks of it, she’s totally nailing that Pokéball throw.

ICYMI, Pokémon Go already affects people’s lives a lot — i.e., an obsessive-amount-of-time.

Some people are seeing Pokémon-type items IRL.

And some people are taking things way too far.

We’re going to go play some Pokémon to get ready for this new Buddy Pokémon update (though we really didn’t need an excuse to play this delightful game).
