On Thursday, Nick Jonas teased us on Twitter with a link to his forthcoming album, Last Year Was Complicated, promising a new song called “Bacon.” Whether it’s an ode to bacon or an ode to love, we’re not sure — we just know that ever since “Bacon” went live overnight, we haven’t been able to stop listening to it (while thinking about bacon).

Sometimes it seems like Nick is talking about a budding new relationship, singing lines like “Pretty mind, silk thoughts/Start a fire when you turn the lights off/Oh my, my God/The way he made you he did a fine job.” But then, he says things like “Aw shit, throw some bacon on it” and “Sizzling, white hot/Give me that sugar with the sweet talk.” Perhaps the point he’s making is that bacon and love are . . . basically the same thing.

We can’t help but agree, and who cares when it’s this fun to dance to? People on Twitter agree, and they can’t contain their joy:

We’re so excited for “Bacon” to be a song of the summer, because it means we can spend every day instructing people to “throw some bacon on it,” which, if you think about it, is really necessary for pretty much every meal and situation.

You can listen to the song in full on Spotify below, as well as “Champagne Problems,” “Close,” and “Chainsaw,” which have all been made available in preparation for the full album’s June 10th release.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we think you know what snack we’re about to go make.
