Indie pop singer Chelsea Lankes has an electro sound that gets stuck in our heads and, in the case of her new track “Paralyzed,” gives us all those falling-in-love feelings. “Paralyzed,” off Chelsea’s self-titled EP, which will hit the digital world April 8, paints the scene of those early days of falling hard: “When we stayed up at 5 and stared at the ceiling/ laughed about nothing, I could tell it was real.”

“I love this song because of how honest and vulnerable it is — describing all the moments and emotions you have when you realize you’ve met someone you know is going to change your life,” Chelsea said. She also went into how this song has helped her express the more vulnerable sides of herself. “It’s never been easy for me to express how I feel in situations where I know I have something to lose.”

Falling in love is scary, but that’s what this song is all about. “Everyone is scared of getting hurt but having been there and taken the chance on someone and fallen in love — it’s worth getting past all of your heart’s reservations regardless of how things transpire,” Chelsea said.

Give “Paralyzed” a listen, and then go take a risk, maybe even fall in love.
