Have you heard, Anastasia is coming to Broadway?

Have you heard, that it’s probably going to be the best Broadway musical ever? That’s what they’re saying on the streets, not just in St. Petersburg.

The musical isn’t some brand new story, but instead a recreation/retelling of the beloved animated classic from 1997. We’re going to have Anya, Demitri, and hopefully Pooka, too. The show just recently wrapped up previews for the show in Hartford, Connecticut, and will start previews on Broadway in March 2017. The ~official~ opening date is set for April 24th, 2017, SO MARK YOUR CALENDARS.

And since April 2017 feels like it’s forever away right now, how about we take a little…journey to the past and check out some of the first images from the show? Apologizes in advance, because you’ll have all these songs stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

The Broadway musical will closely follow the OG movie, complete with a music box playing “Once Upon A December.”

Don’t worry, Dimitri IRL is also dashing AF.

Vladimir’s here, too. And everyone will “learn to do it!”

So far, no pictures of the evil Rasputin have been released (or, Bartok the bat) which make us VERY WORRIED for Anya.

Instead, look at this dashing picture of Anya and Dimitri, and just think about how great it will be when this story comes to life right in front of your eyes.

The official artwork for the show has also been released, and it is BEAUTIFUL.

BRB, we’ve got to watch the original Anastasia a thousand more times between now, and the musical’s opening.
