Last Sunday HBO premiered a brand new limited series we’ve all been anxiously waiting for: Big Little LiesBig Little Lies is based on a 2014 novel by Liane Moriarty, and it’s a twisted, yet addicting tale of put-together moms in Monterey, CA who make elementary school seem wildly frightening. Big Little Lies‘ first episode “Somebody’s Dead” revealed that, well, somebody died. We don’t know who that person is yet, but the episode lays down enough groundwork to get us completely hooked. In fact, you can watch Episode 2 right NOW, thanks to HBO, who dropped it early in case you’re watching the Oscars this Sunday.

If you took a liking to Big Little Lies, you may have noticed that the soundtrack is hauntingly unforgettable. The songs stay with you long after they’re over, and they’re the perfect complement to the visually beautiful melodrama that takes place between the people of Monterey. If you love what you heard, you don’t have to worry about Shazaming any of the songs, because Tunefind has found them all for you.

The opening credits song is “Cold Little Heart” by Michael Kiwanuka. Watch the full live session video if you’re in the mood for some musical genius.

Remember that scene where Shailene Woodley’s character is running along the beach after her brunch with Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman? The song playing in the background is “Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole” by Martha Wainwright.

That tender moment when Reese Witherspoon and Adam Scott embrace after an honest conversation about family and an ex-husband is accompanied by “Call On Me” by Janis Joplin & Big Brother & The Holding Company.

Here are the others:

  • “Super Rich Kids” by Frank Ocean
  • “You Don’t Love Me (No, No, No)” by Dawn Penn
  • “King Kong” by Babe Ruth
  • “Victim Of Love” (feat. Menahan Street Band) by Charles Bradley
  • “The Wind” by PJ Harvey
  • “September Song” by Agnes Obel
  • “Casimir Pulaski Day” by Sufjan Stevens

You can purchase any of these songs on iTunes or Amazon. They’ll get you in the mood for whatever chaos takes place next amongst the Monterey moms.
