Singer covers Alicia Keys' "Fallin'" after inhaling helium and it's hilarious
Right out the gate, Alicia Keys’ “Fallin'” became a monster hit in 2001 and remains atop our playlist of all-time favorite jams to this day. Although the song is 15 years old (seriously?!), we can never get enough of the singer’s classic ode to repeat heartbreak offenders. We’ve sung it in the shower, during karaoke night and while gripping the steering wheel in rush-hour traffic. But unlike American Idol alum Lauren Alaina, never have we ever sang “Fallin'” after inhaling helium.
If you’re not familiar with Alaina, she’s the 2011 AI runner up and her voice is insane. While participating in The Bobby Bones Show Helium Karoake segment, the 21-year-old country singer totally killed her wacky cover of “Fallin'” by hitting all the right notes while inhaling helium from a balloon. Miraculously, Alaina even managed to maintain a straight face throughout the hilarity.
In case you’re wondering, this is what flawless vocals sound like on helium:
AND WE CAN’T EVEN DEAL RN.
Alaina even talked some smack on Twitter before her performance, which suggests that she may have some prior experience with holding helium-infused notes:
Ah-mazing. Although, to be fair, inhaling helium isn’t really great for your brain so, like, don’t do it. But this is still hilarious.
