When preparing to give a speech in public, it’s necessary to get into the ‘moment.’ You know, to feel absolutely ready with every fibre of our being! And to do that, many people (including the President) turn to rap music. It’s fast. It’s relentless. It’s undeniably powerful. And often, its lyrics literally mention winning.

Apparently the President of the United States likes to get down to some rap music before stepping out on the podium, and his favorite track is Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.” No biggie, it’s just the most influential anthem that exists in rap music!

That’s right, President Obama used Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” to prepare for his epic speech at the Democratic National Convention

There are even studies that show how hip-hop music gives a sense of empowerment, which has numerous positive effects on our mental health. Clearly, the President chose wisely.

Also, we already knew that he loves to get down with some hip-hop, because his favorite song of 2015 was Kendrick Lamar’s “How Much a Dollar Cost.” This guy knows his rap.

You can watch the video here, armed with the knowledge that President Obama went on to deliver an emotionally charged, heartfelt speech at the DNC. He prepared accordingly, and it worked.
