A partial Spice Girls reunion has been confirmed by Mel B! This is not a drill!
Along with the rest of humanity, we’ve been waiting for a Spice Girls reunion for a long time. And guess what? It’s happening! Well, sort of.
As Vulture tells us, Mel B. (aka Scary Spice) went on The Late Late Show with James Corden to drop the news that the girls will be reuniting for some anniversary shows, because it’s been 20 years since the first Spice Girls album (crazy, right?!).
But unfortunately… not all the girls will be participating.
When asked why the reunion will only be Mel B., Geri Halliwell (Ginger), and Emma Bunton (Baby), Mel B. simply explains, “because the other two bitches didn’t want to do it.” (Jokingly, of course!)
She then followed it up with an actual explanation. “Let me correct that! My two lovely ladies…you know, Victoria’s busy with her fashion line, Mel C.’s doing her album, and so they gracefully said, ‘you three go ahead and do it.’ We’re girl power, we support each other. So us three went, okay, let’s do it.”
A reunion without Victoria Beckham (Posh) and Mel C. (Sporty)?!
That’s going to be difficult to process, but we’re excited that at least something Spice-related is on the horizon. According to Mel B., they’ll be doing “something” in their homeland, and hopefully making it to other places according to the response.
That’s pretty vague… but hey, we’ll take it.
In the interview, Mel B. said that they’d like to invite some other artists up on stage with them, which leaves a big question sizzling in our minds. WHO’S IT GONNA BE?
Corden makes some suggestions, but we’ll just have to wait and see!
