Miley Cyrus is BACK! She has been slowly dropping hints about her new yet-to-be-titled album, but we don’t know too much yet other than what we can infer from her earthy single “Malibu.” We’ve been digging “Malibu,” for sure, but Miley’s latest single, “Inspired,” is suuuuuper country, and we’re totally loving it!

Earlier today, during a concert for the Today Show, Miley debuted the new track, which talks about her desire to be inspired and inspire others in a sometimes disappointing world.

She sings:

Miley has been vocal about her desire to get people more involved and inspired, particularly after the presidential election. She said during in an interview with Billboard, “I have to ask myself, ‘How am I going to create real change?’ and not just fucking preach to the choir anymore.”

She thinks we need “unity” more than anything else. “This record is a reflection of the fact that yes, I don’t give a fuck, but right now is not a time to not give a fuck about people,” she says. “I’m giving the world a hug and saying, ‘Hey, look. We’re good — I love you.’ And I hope you can say you love me back.”

Her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, told Billboard that he thinks this album is quintessential Miley. “This is Miley leaning into her roots more than I’ve ever heard,” he says. “For her, this is honest.”

“Malibu” has really taken off! So, it must be resonating with some people. It’s number one in 35 countries! Congrats Miley! We can’t wait to hear the rest of her album!
