Lorde recorded most of her album in Lena Dunham's living room, and we wish we were a fly on that wall
Whether or not you love her, there’s no way to avoid the epic news that Lorde’s new single “Green Light” is everywhere right now. The 20-year-old singer has just finished recording her sophomore album, and where else did she do it but in Lena Dunham’s apartment! Lena just posted the sweetest Instagram about how her partner Jack Antonoff, of bands Bleachers and Fun., helped Lorde record the album. Lena was on snack duty while Lorde and Jack made music in the living room.
Lorde’s new song chronicles the heartache that comes with young love and is a testament to living in a dizzying world full of the feelings, colors, and emotions that come with being an artist in love.
This isn’t the first time that Lena has had stars recording in her humble abode. In fact, bff Taylor Swift also worked with Jack and recorded her album in Lena’s living room. While we think that stars like Lorde and Taylor spend all their time in fancy Hollywood studios, it seems like we may be wrong! Simple can really be better, and when you have Lena Dunham feeding you snacks, there probably isn’t anything to complain about.
Now, we just have to patiently wait for Lorde’s new album. Amen.
