Just when you thought Lady Gaga couldn’t be any cooler, she goes ahead and joins a project that’ll help support the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Winehouse’s father, Mitch, revealed to The Sun that Gaga was just one of the many artists chosen to cover one of Amy’s hits to help raise money for the cause.

Winehouse passed away tragically in 2011, and the Foundation was set up around two months later. Its mission is to help children and young adults find peace through music and creative outlets, instead of drugs and alcohol. The Foundation works to support musical education, and helps young adults navigate through rehab if need-be. They also offer scholarships.

While it hasn’t been revealed which song Lady Gaga will cover (and she’s got plenty of amazing tunes to choose from) it’s especially touching, since Gaga was a huge fan of Amy Winehouse. In fact, she was devastated when she heard the news.

Gaga has also mentioned that she wasn’t able to physically speak for 48 hours after hearing the news of Winehouse’s passing.

Without a doubt, Gaga is going to put so much heart and soul into this tribute. We can’t wait to hear it. (And let’s be real, we’ll probably be playing it on repeat.)
