There has been so much anticipation about Frank Ocean’s new album Boys Don’t Cry that one of his fans made a web-based app to detect when the album has dropped. Clearly, the world needs this, and we’ve been teased enough (plus people on the internet are going crazy)! WHAT’S THE HOLD UP?!

According to Entertainment Weekly, it’s art.

“To be fair, art cannot be rushed. It’s about making sure the perfect aesthetic for the situation has been reached, to do that, takes constant tweaking, trial and error… That goes for any creative [situation]” said Malay Ho, Ocean’s producer.

Okay fine, so please Mr. Ho, when will the art be ready?!

Turns out no one knows. It was supposed to be August 5th, but it’s the 16th now and no Frank Ocean album! Back in March, Ho told Pitchfork that the album would release “when Ocean’s ready.”

And apparently, he’s not ready. We guess he’s some kind of perfectionist or something.

But let’s look on the bright side. History has shown that Frank Ocean is capable of delivering powerful albums that show off his unique style – both Channel Orange and Nostalgia, Ultra were great showcases of his vocal range, emotion and swag — so we can only assume Boys Don’t Cry will be worth the wait.

Still though, Frank Ocean if you’re listening… please hurry up. We miss you dearly!
