Christina Grimmie's posthumous music is heartbreakingly beautiful
Get ready for the water works. A clip of late singer Christina Grimmie’s new song “Sublime” was released on her Twitter, and it’s everything we could’ve imagined. The singer and former The Voice contestant was fatally shot during an autograph signing after her June 10 show in 2016. Over the past year, celebrities including Before You Exit, Grimmie’s tourmates, and Adam Levine,
Grimmie’s coach on The Voice, have shared a ton of beautiful tributes. And Christina’s fans have also shown support for her family.
A few months ago, a posthumous album of all of Christina’s recent music was announced. And, of course, we couldn’t help but be excited for what’s to come.
Christina was ahead of her time musically, and we love hearing that her family wants to continue to share her talent with the world. If you’re anything like us, you’ve been awaiting the highly anticipated album’s release too. And thanks to Christina’s family, we have our second look into the work of art before it hits stores June 9.
Just a short clip of “Sublime” will have you on the verge of tears. Christina’s voice is as beautiful as ever, and the lyrics are touching as well. The video paired with the track shows a loving montage of Christina with her family. And, OMG, we can’t stop crying.
Listen to Christina Grimmie’s “Sublime” for yourself.
We can only imagine how tough things must have been for her family over the past year, but we’re happy that they want to keep her legacy alive.
After the family released the track “Invisible” in February, which was recorded just before her death, we could bet that whatever was to come would be filled with passion. And after tuning into this “Sublime” clip, we’re more than positive All Is Vanity will be the album of a lifetime.
