Adam Levine gave the most bittersweet tribute to Christina Grimmie on last night's "The Voice"
It’s been almost a year since Christina Grimmie passed away, and fans are still feeling the loss. It’s so incredibly unfair that she was pulled from the world in such tragic circumstances — and as her solo career was climbing. Adam Levine gave a moving tribute to Grimmie on last night’s episode of The Voice, followed by a tender performance of “Hey Jude” by Levine and Team Adam.
They dedicated it to Grimmie, who was a finalist on Adam’s team during Season 6. With her parents and brother in the audience, this performance was emotional, to say the least.
"God, I loved her so much," Levine said. "I am talking to you guys [her family] specifically, I’m talking to everybody. I miss her. It's unfair that she's not here. We're going to sing her a little song tonight, and I'm going to be singing every word to her, in her honor."
We miss you too, Christina. So much.
Levine also announced The Christina Grimmie Foundation, a memorial fund that aims to help families affected by gun violence and breast cancer. We’re so glad that Grimmie’s legacy continues, because she was not only a talented musician, but a generous person and a positive influence on so many people.
"First Birthday without you was not an easy one," her brother Mark Grimmie wrote in his Insta caption. "Miss you a lot sis. Thinkin about you all the time."
We’re sending so much love to Christina’s family.
