We’ve been closely following the new Wonder Woman movie since its inception. Now, we’ve learned what motivates Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman according to Patty Jenkins, the film’s director. And fair warning: It’s not what you’d expect.
We’ll admit that we can barely contain our excitement for this movie. From out first look at Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman, to the kickass trailer released at Comic-Con, we can’t get enough. So, this news has us losing our fangirl minds a little bit.
It’s extremely important, then, Prince comes of age during WWII. For one, the world war was an unprecedented moment for humanity. Additionally, it was a particularly brutal war — so fighting for the betterment mankind makes perfect sense.
Unfortunately, Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince is in for a big surprise.
The world can be extremely dark, and she’s going to see it firsthand. However, it’s also going to make her the Wonder Woman we know, and love. To us, that’s a good thing.
Despite the somewhat bleak setting, we’re SO excited for this movie. We can barely wait until its June 2, 2017 release.
