Yes that is an actual movie title. Well, technically, it’s a graphic novel title, but Cowboy Ninja Viking the movie will star Chris Pratt, and it just got a big release date: June 28th, 2019 — the weekend before the 4th of July.

This is a passion project for Pratt, who’s mostly been in the headlines of late because he and Anna Faris publicly separated (pause for sobbing), so this good news is coming at the perfect time for the actor. It’s been a longtime coming, too. Pratt has been trying to get Cowboy Ninja Viking made since 2014, and now he’ll be producing it with Universal Pictures, the same production company behind another upcoming Pratt film, Jurassic World 2.

So what is Cowboy Ninja Viking, exactly?

Cowboy is a graphic novel series about a person known as a “triplet” assassin who, you guessed it, is a cowboy, a ninja, AND a viking (or at least has some qualities of each one).

It’s basically every man’s dream role, so it’s no wonder Pratt was adamant about playing the part. The concept is kind of ridiculous-sounding, as if a bunch of five year olds got together and wrote their dream movie, so hopefully it will have some self-effacing Pratt humor included for the character.

Many people are likely experiencing mixed feelings about Pratt right now. It’s hard to look at a member of one of your favorite couples after they’ve split in the same adoring way you once did. To go right back to being happy and excited for Pratt’s success might seem like we’re taking his side, but that shouldn’t be the case, it’s not about taking sides here.

Honestly, we should all probably take Kristen Bell’s advice on how to look at the Pratt-Farris split and say, “‘Oh, they tried. But that doesn’t discount the lovely years they had together.’”

That means, YES, we can still be happy for him.

It would be hard to avoid Pratt, considering he’s in a bunch of upcoming blockbusters in addition to Cowboy Ninja Viking. Next May he’s set to appear in The Avengers: Infinity War, and the following month, Pratt will star in Jurassic World: Hidden Kingdom.

We’ve got a lot of Chris Pratt action movies to look forward to, that’s for sure.
