The trailer for James Franco's "Mother May I Sleep With Danger" remake looks amazing
If you were among the many Lifetime Movie fans who threw a side-eye when you heard that James Franco was remaking the beloved film, Mother May I Sleep With Danger?, the trailer is finally here, and it is probably NOTHING like you expected. In the 1996 film, Tori Spelling played a teenager named Laura who starts dating her dream dude, but he turns out to be a psychotic murderer. The updated version appears to be a complete 180 from the original and very different from typical Lifetime movie fare — it’s a lesbian vampire story.
In the trailer, a college theater major named Leah introduces her new girlfriend to her mother, who is played by Tori Spelling, though there is no relation to her previous role. Soon enough, Leah finds out that her new love is actually a vampire! So, instead of the “danger” being a deranged boyfriend, it’s a creature of the night. HOW GOTH!
There are a lot of running in cemeteries, buckets of (fake) blood, and Franco also makes an appearance. Mother, May I Sleep with Danger? premieres June 18th on Lifetime. In the meantime, you should probably start planning your vampire-themed viewing party.
