Have fun sleeping with the lights on for the rest of your life, the first trailer for "It" is terrifying
So this is officially terrifying. There’s a new trailer out for Stephen King’s It — and it looks like a combo of everything from your nightmares, basically.
A creepy clown, a small town, and people constantly disappearing. Sounds like a Stephen King novel alright! The book was initially released in 1986, so yes, it’s been terrifying readers for over 30 years. It’s also been terrifying us in movie form, too, thanks to a 1990 mini-series starring Tim Curry.
And now this? This is something else.
The trailer really lulls you into a feeling of safety because it starts out with two brothers hugging. Awwwww.
And for some reason, this little kid thinks it’s a good idea to play with a paper boat IN THE RAIN. Oh but also stay away from this dark drain, please!
But then the stuff of nightmares begins because you know how freaky children can be in scary movies.
Oh, and then there’s Pennywise….
Basically, this movie is going to be terrifying. Here’s the official synopsis:
The clown Pennywise is played by Bill Skarsgård, and the group of kids who face him down seem Goonies-esque. Well, a much creepier version! Watch the entire trailer (if you dare) right here:
It will be in theaters September 8th. Make sure to bring someone who will hold your hand through this.
