We can always count on Jimmy Kimmel to make a perfect parody video. From the infamous music video with Ben Affleck (you know the one), to his constant “couple’s therapy” sessions with Matt Damon, we are pretty much always laughing.
And his latest comedic opus is all about Tom Hanks, who’s currently starring in Clint Eastwood’s Sully, about the pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger who emergency landed a commercial plane into the Hudson River after catastrophic engine failure.
Kimmel turned the tables on the actor, claiming he had produced a biopic of Hanks. And who stars in Kimmel’s fake movie, you ask (entitled Hanks)? None other than the actual, real-life Sully himself, playing Tom Hanks in all his most famous roles.
From Forrest Gump to Castaway and everything in between (even the ’80s TV show Bosom Buddies!), Sully totally brings it (another career option, perhaps?).
Sully and Hanks were guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and after the clip was played, Hanks was at a loss for words. In a good way.
When he regained consciousness, he said simply,”Chesley Sullenberger, I used to have such respect for you.” LOL. We heart him so much.
Here’s the clip, which is absolutely essential viewing:
There really should be more fake biopics floating around, because this is gold.
