Let’s face it — our favorite movies often leave us with questions, ranging from game-changing “what just happened?!” moments to teeny little plot details we’re mostly just curious about. Star Wars: The Force Awakens certainly left us with our fair share of *major* questions, but there was one in particular we just couldn’t shake:

Did Captain Phasma survive her trip to the trash compactor?

Luckily for us, Marvel’s new Star Wars: Captain Phasma comic is filling in those gaps about what happened to the Stormtrooper commander. You know, directly after her confrontation with former charge Finn, Han Solo, and Chewbacca, which resulted in her codes being used to weaken Starkiller Base — and led to her ending up in the compactor (in a wonderful little homage to A New Hope).

Thanks to Vanity Fair‘s Star Wars cover story — and, of course, the extensive, promotional campaign as a whole — we already know that Gwendoline Christie’s character did, in fact, make it out of the Starkiller Base before it exploded. And now, thanks to this new comic written by Kelly Thompson, with art from Marco Checchetto, we’re learning a bit about Phasma’s escape.

Plus, we even meet a new character from The Last Jedi!

In the first edition of Captain Phasma, BB-9E — the new droid creating waves throughout the Star Wars fandom — makes its very first appearance. The comic will also delve a bit deeper into the commander, teaching us exactly how cunning and powerful the captain *actually* is.

During The Force Awakens, Captain Phasma was one of the most interesting secondary characters and we’re really happy to not only have her back for The Last Jedi, but to also get to learn more about her with this new comic.

The first issue of Captain Phasma is currently available in print and digital.
