This smiling shark looks like a real-life "Finding Nemo" character
Sharks can be seriously terrifying creatures, but they also have kinda goofy expressions. This image was captured by a scuba diver named Kenneth MacWilliams, and it shows a lemon shark (apparently the world’s friendliest shark) in Florida baring all his teeth in a super wide grin. He’s looking straight at the camera with his best face forward. Awww, what a happy shark.
Kenneth told the Daily Mail, “Since it appears as though the shark is smiling, it made me smile.” He went on to crush any anxieties about whether this particular shark might eat him, “I don’t think lemon sharks associate divers with food.” Doesn’t this smiley shark make you think of… a certain great white shark from Finding Nemo? Bruce! The shark with the massive personality.
We’ll never forget his fish-friendly shark motto: “I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food.”
WE MISS YOU, BRUCE!
While the lemon shark does look a lot like Bruce, and he is friendlier than many sharks, he’s definitely not a vegetarian. It’s safe to say this lemon shark has never uttered a fish-friendly shark motto in his life, and he would probably be less-than-excited to join Bruce’s support group.
Anyway, we’re hoping that good old Bruce swims his way into Finding Dory. He hasn’t been featured in any of the trailers yet, but we’re optimistic that Pixar will deliver the goods. This is important stuff.
