"Silence of the Lambs" was remade into a hilarious romantic comedy
If there’s one thing all horror aficionados know, it’s the power of a subtle scare. Not necessarily the one that jumps out at you, but the sort that leaves your skin crawling long after the movie is over. Silence of the Lambs is the perfect example of this. But now, we can imagine Silence of the Lambs as a romantic comedy — and it’s pretty damn funny!
The famous 1991 thriller is about FBI student Clarice Starling and her relationship with Dr. Hannibal Lecter, who’s trying to help her find a deranged murderer by the name of Buffalo Bill. Thanks to CineFix, the company behind the trailer, we can see the film in a different light.
The trailer imagines what it would be like if Hannibal Lecter fell in love with Detective Sterling and the results are definitely … strange. The scariest part? If we hadn’t seen (or heard about) this movie, we probably would have fallen for the trailer. One of the most chilling parts of the film is Lecter’s subtle gestures and remarks, most notably his fondness towards Clarice. So seeing this trailer from that angle feels plausible in an off-kilter way.
Our favorite part about the trailer is that you really end up rooting for Hannibal! We found ourselves hoping that Clarice ends up with him, even though we know that he’s locked up and behind bars for a reason. After all, love perseveres, right?!
Either way, we’ll be thinking about this trailer the next time we watch Silence of the Lambs.
