Rihanna and Adam Driver are starring in a movie together, and here's what we know
** Update from 3/17: Multiple sources are now reporting that Rihanna won’t be in this film. While it’s a bit disappointing, we’re still pretty excited to see Adam Driver!
What do you do when you have two in-demand talents? You find the perfect movie to put them in together. A new movie featuring Rihanna and Adam Driver is coming out, and it looks like it’ll be a huge hit for both of them.
How can we tell? Well, aside from hiring accomplished stars like Rihanna and Driver, what we know about the film so far is that it’s pretty darn cool.
The film will be called Annette, and it was written by Los Angeles-based band Sparks. The band will also provide the soundtrack to the film, because there’s clearly no better option. We can’t even imagine how well the music is going to correspond with each scene, due to the fact that the band — comprised of duo Ron and Russell Mael — will be in charge of both.
Here’s what you can expect from the soundtrack:
According to Variety, director Leos Carax is also tied to the project, which is set to film this spring. Amazon Studio has already expressed interest in distributing the film, which is excellent news.
So, what’s this film about?
It’s been rumored that the plot focuses around a stand-up comedian who is left to raise a 2-year-old after the death of his wife. It sounds pretty intriguing. As of now, we don’t know if Rihanna and Driver have big roles or supporting roles — but we’ll hopefully learn more about that soon.
While Driver has been in a bunch of recent films, Rihanna’s acting career is just starting to rise.
She’s been appearing on episodes of Bates Motel, but she’s also set to appear in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets and (the very much anticipated) Ocean’s Eight.
We’re already impressed by the number of incredible projects Rihanna has attached herself to, and we can’t even wait to see what else her future holds!
