Reese Witherspoon AND Mindy Kaling might join Oprah in this Disney movie and we cannot handle our excitement
We already knew that the dynamic duo of Oprah Winfrey as the star and Ava DuVernay as the director would create an absolutely spectacular movie. But hearing the news that Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling may be joining this fantastical film is almost too wonderful to handle.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, both Reese and Mindy are in negotiations to round out the roles of the “Mrs W’s” in the upcoming Disney adaptation of A Wrinkle In Time.
ICYMI, the “Mrs W’s” are a trio of celestial beings that help the main character, Meg, through her interplanetary journey as she attempt to find her lost scientist father. Oprah is already signed on to play Mrs. Which, while Reese is in discussions to play Mrs. Whatsit, and Mindy is close to playing Mrs. Who.
Seeing Reese as Mrs. Whatsit, an old-lady wrapped in layers of clothes who transforms into a beautiful centaur-like being, would be truly awesome to watch.
And, of course, Mindy Kaling would totally nail the the literature quoting, multilingual Mrs. Who.
Plus, seeing these two women as immortal beings under the leadership of their fellow immortal being Oprah (aka Mrs. Who) feels perfectly natural since Oprah is pretty much both immortal and the leader of us all IRL.
As if the #girlpower in this movie could get even stronger, the script is written by Jennifer Lee who also wrote Frozen.
We certainly hope these negotiations prove fruitful because seeing these three women be co-stars (while literally traveling through real stars) would be the absolute best.
