Out of all the things Star Wars has — spaceships! Cool creatures! Lightsabers! Kickass female heroines! — it is seriously lacking in one department: dogs. Come on, shouldn’t there be a lot more dogs in Star Wars?

We’re not the only ones who think that. Over the weekend at the Star Wars Celebration in London, England, the OG space heroine herself, Princess Leia, commented that she’s working hard to secure her four-legged friend a spot in the franchise. And it’s about damn time.

Obviously, this isn’t really Princes Leia’s pup, since last we checked, she doesn’t actually have a dog in any of the movies — but who knows, maybe lil’ Kylo Ren Ben Solo begged, and pleaded, and promised to take care of the family dog, and clean up after it, and the Solo Parents eventually gave into his request, and they named the dog Indiana, which is a hilarious joke, you’re welcome internet.

But Carrie Fisher is 100% campaigning to get red-carpet-star Gary Fisher into one of the next movies.

While talking about her relationship with her on-screen brother, Mark Hamill, Fisher explained that the two of them “fight all the time” and she’s only sticking around with Star Wars to make sure that her dog is well taken care of in the future.

I’m just here to make sure Gary gets a part, at least in the next one,” she explained to the crowd. “There aren’t enough pets in space, right?

NO. THERE ARE NOT. Whether or not Gary’s dream of Star Wars fame comes true or not all lies with the next NEXT Star Wars movie. Episode VIII has wrapped filming, and as its director, Rian Johnson, joked Fisher needs to “talk to Colin [Trevorrow, director of Episode IX] about space pets.”

OMG. Star Wars: Space Pets. We like were this is headed.
