If you want to be terrified heading into the new year, you’ve come to the right place. Netflix dropped a trailer for The Open House, its upcoming horror-thriller starring 13 Reasons Why‘s Dylan Minnette and Piercy Dalton and, in a word, it looks horrifying. Like, we’re definitely going to sleep with all the lights on tonight because we don’t know if we can handle the darkness because of the trailer alone.

In the Open House trailer, a mother (Dalton) and teen son (Minnette) move into a relative’s vacation home in a small town after a death in the family. The only catch about their new lodging is that they have to leave for open houses, and guess what — super weird stuff starts happening after an open house. Like, noises can be heard under the floorboards and though the cops come to check it out, they say nobody is there. Yeah, okay, we aren’t buying that for a *single* second.

Sure, maybe this is some sort of prank. Except, A) we know this is a horror-thriller movie, and B) we soon see Dalton’s Naomi looking at photos of her taken while she was sleeping, just as a threatening figure pops up behind her. *shudders* We weren’t kidding when we said we’d have trouble sleeping tonight.

Take a look at the trailer for The Open House — if you dare.

So yeah, we’re officially scared for life but also, we love Dylan as Clay Jensen in 13 Reasons Why and really want to see him in this new role so…we’ll be watching when The Open House lands on Netflix on January 19th, but with our fingers over our eyes.
