The colorful trailer for Emily Blunt's "My Little Pony: The Movie" is here — and oh no, Ponyville is under attack!
Hasbro has made films out of some of its most popular toys like Ouija, Transformers, and G.I. Joe. The next toy Hasbro is putting on the big screen is the lovable, ’80s toy line My Little Pony — and we couldn’t be more excited.
It gets better, though! The first announcement got us totally hyped, and now we’re finally getting the first trailer!
If you’re a fan of glitter, sparkles and pastel colors, you’re probably already dusting off your VHS tapes and digging through your closet looking for your old pony collection.
OMG! Could anything be more glittery and cute?
Though My Little Pony: The Movie seems all sunshiny and bright (pastel-colored horses don’t exactly scream evil), something is amiss in Equestria in this trailer. A dark force is threatening Ponyville and the Mane 6 (Twilight Sparkly, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity) are on the case.
Throughout the film, they use magic and friendship to try and save their home and squash out evil. And that’s exactly what we love about these guys!
One thing that’s totally unexpected is that there does appear to be a bit of darkness here, leading us believe the film isn’t just for kids. (Is Hasbro catering to Bronies, the 13 to 30-year-old men who love the franchise?) Verdict’s still out on that, but we do know the film has an all-star cast that makes it worth watching no matter who you are.
Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth, Liev Schreiber, Uzo Aduba, Zoe Saldana, and Sia all lend their voices to this major animated picture. See them in action when the film lands in theaters on October 6th!
