It's all mustaches and mayhem in the first trailer for "Murder on the Orient Express"
ATTENTION fans of Agatha Christie, her brilliantly inquisitive protagonist Hercule Poirot, and just about anybody who loves a good murder mystery. The first trailer for Murder on the Orient Express dropped today, and it looks absolutely spine-chilling.
Based on the 1934 novel by Christie, the film revolves around a murder that takes place on a train going from Istanbul to London. Every passenger is a suspect, and thankfully Detective Poirot is on-board to help solve the case.
If that isn’t enough to make you want to whip out your pipe and monocle, let’s take a look at the all-star cast. Because, literally everyone we love is in this movie. Kenneth Branagh, who both directed the film and stars as Poirot, will appear alongside Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz, Daisy Ridley, and Josh Gad.
Gad promises that it’s going to be a really fun callback to old school murder mysteries — something we don’t really don’t get to experience anymore.
Side-note: he told Entertainment Weekly that he and Judi Dench kinda became BFF’s during filming, after he he wow-ed her with a pun.
“Everybody was very intimidated by Judi just because she is who she is,” he said. “I, of course, being the idiot that I am, went up to her on probably day three in the makeup trailer as she was reading her lines. I tapped her on the shoulder, and I said, ‘Dame Judi Dench? More like daaamn Judi Dench!’ And from that point forward, the two of us had this amazing rapport.”
Judging from the first trailer, Gad’s mustache might win our vote for “Favorite Mustache.” We really can’t wait to hop on-board this creepy, star-studded train come November 10th.
