Everyone is losing their minds over this male Japanese rockstar's Harley Quinn cosplay
So much #mindblown in this story we’re about to tell you. In Japan, there is a man who is a rockstar. His name is Hyde, and he is the lead singer of the legendary rock band L’Arc-en-Ciel, and the band Vamps. Hyde is mega famous in Japan, and is renowned for his cosplay. Halloween has become a major party holiday in Japan, which, given the Japanese youth-culture’s predilection for cosplay, isn’t surprising.
For Halloween, Hyde cosplayed as Harley Quinn from the 2016 Suicide Squad movie. The Warner Bros. movie did pretty well in Japan, and Harley Quinn has become a major phenomenon there. Makes sense, given that bad-ass female and feminine characters are a staple of manga and anime.
Hyde debuted his costume at Vamp’s annual Halloween event last weekend in Tokyo (new life goal: go to there) and the previous weekend in Kobe, Japan.
Yes, that is a MAN.
In fact, that is a 47-year-old man.
What’d we tell you? #mindblown
In our opinion – no, not an opinion – FACT IS, Hyde is gorgeous, every bit as beautiful as Margot Robbie, who portrays Harley Quinn in the Warner Bros. movie.
Let us compare. Here is what Hyde usually looks like:
Again, we remind you, dude is 47.
And once more (okay, lots more), here is Hyde as Harley.
Vamps kick off their North American tour later this week in San Francisco.
We’ll be following them closely, as we are now officially obsessed with Hyde.
