Lupita Nyong'o and Josh Gad just made our undead dreams come true, will star in a zombie rom-com together
Zombie movies are typically the stuff of nightmares, but when dream team Lupita Nyong’o and Josh Gad sign on to make one, we’ll have no trouble resting easy. The unexpected but delightful pair — along with Australian actor Alexander England — will star in the upcoming Little Monsters.
And we’ve *never* been so excited about an impending undead apocalypse.
England will play Dave, a struggling musician who offers to chaperone his nephew’s kindergarten field trip to get closer to teacher Miss Caroline (Nyong’o). Things get a little messy though as kids’ show celeb Teddy McGiggle (Gad) is also vying for Miss Caroline’s affections. And, oh yeah, they’re all facing a full-blown zombie outbreak!
No word on when we can expect the movie to stalk its way into theaters, but we can’t wait to see it.
Nyong’o — who, let’s be real, is amazing in everything she does — has been on a real dream team kick lately.
Back in May, Twitter came together to gift the world the Nyong’o-Rihanna buddy movie we all deserve. In addition to Ava DuVernay expressing her desire to direct that soon-to-be-classic, Issa Rae is reportedly interested in writing the script. And other stars from Gina Rodriguez to Ryan Phillippe have thrown their hat in the ring to join the cast.
Last month, reports claimed Nyong’o is also in the running to star in a Charlie’s Angels reboot alongside Kristen Stewart. Plus, Nyong’o will be showing off her ass-kicking chops with a whole roster of big names in the upcoming Black Panther.
And like, who wouldn’t want to team up with a skyrocketing star like Lupita? So needless to say, we can’t wait to watch Lupita Nyong’o and Josh Gad alike in Little Monsters!
