Not so fast, Tom Hiddleston probably won't be playing James Bond after all
It seems like new rumors come out regarding the *next* James Bond every other day — especially since the most recent Bond, Daniel Craig, has seemed absolutely uninterested in going any further with the role. Lately, the internet has run wild with hopes and speculation, and our most FAVORITE Bond casting rumor has been that our internet boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston, would be suiting up as the iconic character.
Sounds great, right? Someone get him a drink, shaken not stirred. This sounds amazing and awesome, and we want to buy our movie ticket right now…
…But apparently, Daniel Craig has been offered a whopping $150 million by Sony to continue playing the iconic agent.
Think about how many martinis he could buy with that.
We find this news especially strange and entertaining, given that after the release of the last movie, Daniel Craig seemed increasingly fed up with the role of James Bond throughout the interview circuit. In an interview with Time Out, Craig was asked whether he was planning on returning for a 25th installment in the franchise. His response was…colorful.
“Now? I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.”
TELL US HOW YOU REALLY FEEL, DANIEL. Yeesh.
But despite fans posing the idea of Jane Bond and casting Gillian Anderson (UM YES PLEASE MOVIE GODS), Idris Elba allegedly being in talks although he denied it (SWOON CITY), along with Hiddleston, it seems that Daniel Craig may indeed be returning to the franchise.
We hope he’s feeling better about everything, now that he’s had some time away.
