Way back earlier in the year, we were beyond excited when the first trailer for the new Ghostbusters premiered. Sure, there was plenty of controversy surrounding the reboot (and, honestly, we’re still tired of hearing about it), but the new flick seemed hilarious. We couldn’t wait to see it.

When it dropped, we rushed to theaters — but not everyone did. As far as box office numbers go, Ghostbusters wasn’t doing as well as Sony hoped. There was even talk about scrapping a planned sequel thanks to the expected financial loss.

But now, we can officially debunk that rumor because producer Ivan Reitman says more Ghostbusters movies are coming.

According to CinemaBlend, Reitman weighed in on the series on a podcast called Mr. Wavvy. With just a few words, he’s given us so much hope.

CinemaBlend is quick to remind us that Reitman seems to be talking about the franchise is general, and not specifically the sequel, but we can’t help but get excited.

We love our ghost-busting gals — and we can’t wait to see more of them.
