It must feel incredible to get so many Oscar nominations (14 in total!) at the ripe old age of 32. But, that’s the life that Damien Chazelle, the director of La La Land, is currently living. Chazelle appeared on The Tonight Show to chat about the film a bit more with Jimmy Fallon.

Fallon was so impressed with the movie, that he admitted that he totally copied parts of it for the Golden Globes intro. Luckily, Chazelle didn’t seem to mind. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?

And speaking of lucky, we’re very lucky that Chazelle spilled a few on-set secrets. Watch the clip below:

Looking back at Fallon’s intro, Chazelle recalled one very interesting memory from the La La Land shoot.

Yikes. We can’t even imagine how uncomfortable that must have been. But of course, the dancers totally pulled it off.

Chazelle even noted how the scene with the truck door was actually stalled a bit, since — well — it was broken.

We’re so glad that the crew was able to think on their feet. The final product was definitely worth the temporary struggle!

The Oscars will be airing on February 26th. Surely you’ll be able to witness La La Land get even more love during the big event!
