If you know us at all, you know we’re here for internet speculation, so we were so here for the Jurassic World fan theory that the little boy Dr. Grant freaked out in the first Jurassic Park grew up to become Chris Pratt, the raptor expert in the 2015 sequel. We love things that tie sequels to their predecessors, especially when there’s a lot of time passing in between the two (shout out to the book with Jeff Goldblum on the back in Jurassic World).

Colin Trevorrow even responded to the fan theory, neither confirming nor denying its validity: “I’m not sure I want to answer because the speculation is so much fun. Let’s not kill the fun.”

Unfooooortunately for those of us who love these theories, Chris Pratt was asked about this one in particular by The Huffington Post during a press junket for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and he wasn’t nearly as open to the possibility.

Chris Pratt isn’t the only one who doesn’t agree with this theory. Whit Herford, the guy who played the little boy originally, tweeted his opinion as well.

So there we have it, folks. Theory denied. But, in the immortal words (more or less) of Our Lord and Savior J.K. Rowling — even if it’s just in our heads, why on earth should that mean it’s not real?
