Try to image, if you can, being in the presence of Oprah Winfrey. Working with Winfrey seems like the chance of a lifetime, but Chris Pine just got to do it. In Ava DuVernay’s upcoming adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time, Pine worked alongside Winfrey — and had a lot of great things to say about her.
At Disney’s D23 Expo this weekend, Pine gushed to Entertainment Tonight about working with Queen Oprah.
We imagine it would be hard to choose between the two! Talking books with Oprah seems like a dream come true. Working alongside her is probably incredibly inspirational. We are so happy Pine got the experience to do both.
A Wrinkle in Time is the adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s 1963 novel of the same name. The sci-fi story follows three young kids who go exploring to find their missing scientist father. Pine plays Dr. Alex Murry, the father of protagonist Meg. Oprah plays the role of Mrs. Which, one of the three Ws who guide the children along their journey. What a perfect casting choice.
Can you imagine Oprah guiding you along a journey? Yes, please.
Besides working with her, Pine was clearly touched by being in Oprah’s presence. He gave her major props for the role she has played in society, both as an actress and as a human.
Pine also shared that he has a list that’s “15 strong” of Oprah book picks. Jealous!
We cannot wait to see A Wrinkle in Time. The movie comes out next year, though the brand new trailer was released yesterday. The countdown begins.
