Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams are busy promoting their new film, Arrival. The two actors are also willing to share some small details about their respective superhero franchises. Adams will appear as Lois Lane in Justice League, and Renner as Hawkeye in Infinity War. Specifically, Jeremy Renner is talking Hawkeye’s role in Infinity War, and we are all ears.

We’re experiencing so much excitement for the next Avengers film. When the first pictures from Avengers: Infinity War landed we couldn’t contain that enthusiasm. Also, Infinity War is going to feature tons of characters – even though the Avengers aren’t getting back together.

With so much going on, where is Hawkeye in Infinity War?

Renner has some (admittedly, real vague) things to say about what’s in store for the arrow-slinger in the MCU. Speaking to HeyUGuys, Renner starts off with a discouraging statement.

“If I knew anything, I still couldn’t tell you. But I don’t know anything.”

Okay, Jeremy, what can you tell us about Hawkeye in Infinity War?

“I know there’s Infinity Wars, I know Avengers 3 and 4 are happening. But I don’t know outside of my involvement or anything else. I can’t tell you!”

We know the film is in its early stages, but some details would be nice.

Renner drops a bomb next, and we dearly hope he’s joking. “What if I’m dead in the first one? I don’t know. I might already be dead.”

Not cool. Luckily, Renner spills more beans. It’s still thin on details, but somehow, we’re getting amped up for Infinity War regardless.

“I know the talks [about] what it’s about sounded fantastic. The Russo brothers have got some really great ideas and they’re following certain parts of ‘Infinity Wars.’ There’s some really exciting stuff for a lot of the characters, especially with… what they’re thinking about doing with Hawkeye especially, I’m pretty excited about.”

So, exciting stuff for Hawkeye means he’s alive, right? Please?

Avengers: Infinity War will open in May of 2018. Hopefully, featuring a very much alive Hawkeye. But, we suppose we’ll have to just wait and see.
