While we’re pretty far away from our next Christmas, this movie news still puts us right back into the holiday spirit. It’s been rumored that Anna Kendrick may star as Santa Claus in an upcoming Christmas movie, and hey — it’s about time that the roles were reversed a little bit. It’s always good to shake things up, and show that a woman can totally wear Santa’s shoes.

The film, which is currently going by the title of Nicole, is about St. Nick’s daughter, who decides to follow in her father’s footsteps after he officially retires from the position. All in all, it sounds pretty adorable.

Kendrick is currently in talks regarding the film, and we hope she agrees — it sounds like a role she’d be perfect for!

The film, which will be put out by Disney, was written by Marc Lawrence, who is credited for two of the Miss Congeniality films. Since we loved Gracie Hart, we know that his character of Nicole will be equally incredible.

Kendrick has been keeping busy these days with the Pitch Perfect franchise. In fact, she’s currently working on the third film, which is set to be released at the end of this year. We’re guessing that Nicole is probably aiming for a Christmas 2018 release.

We can’t wait to hear more! We have a feeling that Nicole might turn into a classic.
