This is just an idea, but how about Dame Angela Lansbury do the Super Bowl Halftime show this year? Yeah? Sound good?

If you need a reminder as to just why Angela Lansbury is considered a national treasure  — and honestly, look no further than Murder, She Wrote — the 90-years-young lady took to the stage over the weekend at a Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary Special Event. She wasn’t just there to wave to the crowd and look pretty.

Nope, she walked on stage and launched into the Academy Award winning (and also Grammy winning, and Golden Globe Winning) iconic song from the movie, “Beauty and the Beast.”

CHLLS. WE HAVE CHILLS. Try imagining actually being in the audience as this happened (and as you can hear, they go absolutely nuts). Even better, original Beauty and the Beast composer, Alan Menken was behind the piano for this song, so this is like a once-in-a-lifetime Beauty and the Beast moment.

The next time we hear this song performed, it will be done by Emma Thompson in the upcoming Beauty and the Beast live-action remake (that we seriously cannot wait for). But Angela will always be OUR first, and favorite, Mrs. Potts. If she told us to run along and get back in the cupboard with the other cups, we’d listen.
